Michael Wood is a Sports Physiotherapist who has worked with some of Australia's most elite individual athletes and teams. His success has included Olympic Games, Commonwealth Games, Hockey World Cups and Olympic Games. He has worked in private practice for over 30 years treating numerous conditions for general patients throughout his tenure as a clinician.

Michael Wood is a registered and APA Titled Sports and Exercise Physiotherapist currently working as the Lead Sports Physiotherapist with the Australian Mens and Womens hockey high performance programs.
This includes work and liaison across the AIS, WAIS, Hockey Australia, leading Western Australian sports medicine physicians, surgeons, allied health providers, coaching and support staff.
Additionally, Michael Wood mentors other physiotherapists including the assessment of Post Graduate Sports Physiotherapy students.
Michael is renowned for his highly developed, innovative and “cutting edge” rehabilitation and treatment techniques for injured players to return to their sport quickly and maintain a playing fitness.
He was awarded with an Australian Sports Medal in honour of services to sport in 2000.

Michael has completed his Masters of Applied Clinical Epidemiology (Sports) through the University of Canberra and the AIS. This qualification has provided Michael with specialised knowledge for professional practice in health implementation and skills for evaluation of research in optimising human performance health. ​
